Microneedling is a procedure that uses tiny needles to create tiny punctures in your skin. The punctures stimulate your skin’s natural healing processes, which can lead to a whole host of benefits, like a brighter, clearer complexion, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and even improved texture and tone.
It’s not nearly as painful as it sounds. In fact, many people describe it as feeling like a mild sunburn.
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 24 hours on average. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend healing minerals, peptides and hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to protect the skin with zinc based sunscreen. We also recommend the use of mineral makeup to help with the healing.
Microneedling is generally very safe, but you may experience some temporary side effects immediately after treatment. The most common include mild redness, swelling, or a warm, tingling sensation, similar to a sunburn. Minor pinpoint bleeding or bruising can occur in sensitive areas, and your skin may feel slightly tight or dry for a day or two. These effects typically resolve within a few days, and most clients are able to return to their normal routine right away.
Since microneedling does not use thermal heat (unlike IPL & Lasers) it is safe to use on all skin types and all skin colours. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
We recommend starting with a course of three microneedling treatments, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. After this initial series, treatments can be scheduled based on your skin’s needs and your personal goals. Many clients maintain results with a session every three months, supporting long-term skin health and a lasting, radiant glow.
RF Microneedling typically involves minimal downtime. Patients may experience some redness, swelling, and mild sensitivity immediately following the treatment, but these side effects generally subside within a few days.
While individual pain tolerance varies, most patients report minimal discomfort during RF Microneedling treatments. Topical numbing cream is typically applied prior to the procedure to help minimize any potential discomfort.
