Eczema support | North Vancouver

Calmer skin starts with a stronger barrier

Eczema is more than dry skin. At Skin Blossom Pro, we support eczema-prone skin between flare-ups with gentle care, barrier repair, and routines that reduce repeat irritation.

What eczema looks like and why it happens

Eczema, also called atopic dermatitis, can show up as dry, itchy, inflamed patches. The color may look red on lighter skin tones or grey, purple, or deeper brown on darker skin tones.

A weakened barrier

The skin loses water too quickly, so everyday products and environmental triggers can sting, burn, or create a visible flare.

An overactive response

The immune system reacts with inflammation, which creates the familiar itch-scratch cycle that makes eczema difficult to calm.

Common flare areas

Hands, eyelids, neck, inner elbows, behind the knees, and the face are common areas. In children, eczema often appears on the cheeks.

Common eczema triggers in the Lower Mainland

Cold, dry winter air and indoor heating
Long hot showers and harsh soaps
Fragrance and essential oils in skincare or laundry products
Wool, synthetic fabrics, and tight clothing
Sweat after exercise that is not rinsed off promptly
Stress, poor sleep, and seasonal routine changes
Certain foods for some people, best confirmed with a physician

How we support eczema-prone skin

Skin Blossom Pro is a medical spa, not a prescribing dermatology office. Our strongest role is the skin-care side of eczema management: calming, hydrating, and helping you avoid avoidable triggers.

Skin barrier assessment

We review your skin, current routine, and flare history with Dr. Claudia Munoz or a senior aesthetician to understand whether the barrier needs rebuilding before any treatment.

Calming facials

Hydrating, fragrance-free protocols can include hyaluronic acid, ceramides, panthenol, and niacinamide. No aggressive acids, fragrance, or harsh extractions.

LED light therapy

Red and near-infrared LED is non-invasive and well tolerated by many reactive skins. It can be a useful calming add-on when the barrier is fragile.

Personalized home routine

Most eczema care happens at home, so we simplify your routine around a gentle cleanser, ceramide-rich moisturizer, and sunscreen your skin can tolerate.

When to see a physician instead

We will tell you honestly when your skin needs that route, and we can coordinate gentle spa-side support alongside your physician’s plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can a facial cure my eczema?

No. Eczema is a chronic condition. A thoughtful facial protocol can help calm visible irritation, support the barrier, and reduce the intensity of future flares, but it is not a cure.

Is microneedling or chemical peeling safe with eczema?

Not during an active flare. Once the skin is calm and the barrier is stable, very mild protocols may be considered for separate concerns. This is always assessed in person.

What is the difference between eczema and dermatitis?

Eczema is one type of dermatitis. Dermatitis is the broader umbrella that also includes contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and perioral dermatitis. Read more about dermatitis here.

Do you treat children?

Childhood eczema is best managed by a family doctor or pediatric dermatologist. We see adults and teenagers and can advise on age-appropriate home care.
